About The Student Advisory Council

In 2012, the Tucson International Mariachi Conference (T.I.M.C.) Board sought after a way to reach out to the youth that proudly continues the traditions of our culture. What they decided upon was the development of the T.I.M.C. Student Advisory Council. The founding members of the council were high school students who became the leaders of their mariachi and folklorico community. Students in their own school groups, community groups, and college students that continue to play and teach are the individuals that have since expanded the diverse group. Each student has their own story that makes them unique, but it is their drive to be voices for their peers, their scholarly determination that has lead them to academic success, and overall superior work ethic that makes them the leaders of today, and board members of the future.
